Chris D Anda Hair Stylist

Chris d'Anda
Je Jeune Salon/Gothique Products

Chris D’Anda’s love of hair and beauty led to styling her friends when she was 14 years old, determined to one day operate her own salon. Subsequent training and certification brought her to the famed Hiroshi Kitamura Salon in Beverly Hills where she worked as a styling assistant. There, she was mentored by a protégé of Vidal Sassoon and learned how to best service her clients through a passion for her craft and dedication to their needs.

Following productive stints at Umberto Salon among others, Chris spent almost seven years as an international educator for Paul Mitchell Systems. She then worked alongside Fernando Romero, Founder and CEO of Bio Ionic styling tools, reviewing products and working on stage in Florida.

Chris’ ambition and talent allowed her to fulfill her childhood dream by opening her own salon when she was just 26 years old. In 1996, right in the heart of Hollywood, Je Jeune Salon was born.

Rave reviews and a loyal client base soon followed, with Chris counting Scarlett Johansson, Anna Faris, Rachel Griffiths, Michael C. Hall, Nick Lachey and Courtney Love among her clients. Chris’ meticulous nature through all aspects of the salon experience allows her clients to receive cuts and coloring tailored specifically to their facial structure and skin tone.

Chris’ aesthetic as a stylist and entrepreneur captures her unique flair, one that she endows to everyone visiting Je Jeune. Invariably ahead of her time, Chris’ style has taken elements of punk and goth to create a novel chic in stark contrast to staid Beverly Hills traditions. Inspired by a trip to New York City’s St. Marks Place, Chris advanced her enviable professional landscape by creating her own line of cherry-almond scented hair products using essential oils and natural ingredients to infuse shine, body and luster to hair.

While running Je Jeune Salon, Chris has created hair shows that further display her extraordinary skills. She’s rented out locales like the El Rey and mixed a club environment with a midnight fashion show to create a singular, unforgettable experience.

In 2008, Chris started Vanity Cares, a community charity providing food for those struggling to feed their families and pets. Chris’ passion for animals extends toward using her (often limited) free time to work with rescue groups and care for her menagerie of pets. She’s also a committed surfer who looks for the waves of the Pacific to keep her grounded.
